Philosophy contests proliferate today. The Olympiads are the most common. In International Council of Philosophical Inquiry with Children (ICPIC) community there is some concern about a possible contradiction between cooperative and community-centred approach to practice philosophy in education intrinsic rivalry competitions. arguments against these focus on their main risks. It thought that they potentially reinforce particularly harmful meritocratic educational system while simultaneously increasing inequality reinforcing private education. Furthermore, belief promote destructive controversy where goal winning debate. Community (CoPI), however, notions exist could be favoured CoPI focuses demanding argumentative dialogue encourage parresia, assertive reasoned defence one’s ideas adversarial contexts. Likewise, Olympic principles fair play; search for excellence ideals isonomy, isegory isokratia, fostering participant skills values which desirable from an educational, philosophical democratic perspective.We consider that, perspective as well approach, participation competition even if negative aspects it might have addressed.
